چکیده
Abstract A finite element model of an impact test on a soft tissue simulant, used as part shoulder surrogate, was developed in Ansys© LS-DYNA ® . The surrogate consisted metal hemicylindrical core, with diameter 75 mm, covered 15 mm thick relaxed muscle simulant. simulant 14 layer silicone 1 chamois leather to represent skin. material properties the were obtained via quasi-static compression testing (curve fit hyperelastic models) and compressive stress relaxation Prony series). Outputs models compared against experimental data from tests at energies 4.9, 9.8 14.7 J. accuracy assessed using four parameters: peak force, maximum deformation, duration impulse. 5-parameter Mooney-Rivlin combined 2-term series found be suitable for modelling surrogate. This had under 10% overall mean deviation values assessment parameters across three energies. Overall, provided repeatable method that can adapted help predict injuries skin performance/efficacy personal protective equipment.

A Nonlinear Finite Element Model of Soft Tissue Indentation
Mathematically describing the mechanical behavior of soft tissues under large deformations is of paramount interest to the medical simulation community. Most of the data available in the literature apply small strains (<10%) to the tissue of interest to assume a linearly elastic behavior. This paper applies a nonlinear hyperelastic 8-chain network constitutive law to model soft tissues undergoi...
متن کاملModeling of Tactile Detection of an Artery in a Soft Tissue by Finite Element Analysis
Nowadays, one of the main problems encountered in minimally invasive surgery and telesurgery is the detection of arteries in tissue. In this study, for the first time, tactile detection of an artery in tissue and distinguishing it from the tumor has been modeled by finite element method. In this modeling, three 2D models of tissue have been created: tissue, tissue including a tumor, and tissue ...
متن کاملA finite element model to simulate magnetic field distribution and laboratory studies in wet low-intensity magnetic separator
Low-intensity magnetic separators are widely used in the research works and the industry. Advancement in the magnetic separation techniques has led to an expansion in the application of this method in different fields such as enrichment of magnetic mineral, wastewater treatment, and medicine transfer in the human body. In the mineral processing industry, the main application of wet magnetic sep...

Effective digital human model (DHM) simulation of automotive driver packaging ergonomics, safety and comfort depends on accurate modelling of occupant posture, which is strongly related to the mechanical interaction between human body soft tissue and flexible seat components. This paper presents a finite-element study simulating the deflection of seat cushion foam and supportive seat structures...
متن کاملValidation and Mesh Quality Assessment of a Distal Radius Finite Element Model to Simulate Forward Fall Impact Loading
Three separate impact events were simulated (LS-DYNA ® ) based on experimental tests previously conducted [2] (i.e., the appropriate impact velocities assigned to the model projectile): i) a pre-fracture event (2.1 m/s); ii) a crack event (2.7 m/s); and iii) a fracture event (3.3 m/s). Two element sets were created in the locations of the experimental strain gauges (dorsal radial styloid and do...
